Nicolas Cages Ex-Wife Files Lawsuit Against Him and Their Son, Accusing Weston Cage of Assault and Claiming Shared Responsibility from Father

Christina Fulton, the former girlfriend of actor Nicolas Cage, has filed a lawsuit against both Cage and their son, Weston Cage, alleging that Weston severely assaulted her in April, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. Fulton, who has a history with Cage dating back to their relationship from 1988 to 1991, claims that the incident occurred during a visit intended to help her son, whom she describes as a 300-pound professional fighter experiencing a mental health crisis.

The unfiled civil complaint, submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses Weston, now 34, of assault and battery, while also holding Nicolas Cage responsible for failing to prevent the alleged violence. Fulton is seeking unspecified damages for the physical, emotional, and economic harm she claims to have suffered as a result of the attack, which she describes as unprovoked.

According to the complaint, Fulton asserts that Nicolas Cage was aware of Weston’s troubling history, which includes mental health issues and previous violent behavior. She alleges that Cage continued to support Weston financially, enabling his actions. Fulton claims that Cage provided Weston with a condo near his own residence and has bailed him out of jail several times, despite knowing about his struggles with substance abuse.

The assault reportedly took place on April 28, during a visit where Fulton intended to check on her son after receiving alarming messages from his friends about his deteriorating mental health. Instead, she alleges that Weston attacked her in a parking lot, elevator, and lobby, resulting in serious injuries including a concussion, dental trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Weston Cage was arrested in June and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon following accusations of attacking both Fulton and another individual. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Fulton claims that the attack has disrupted her career as a former model and entrepreneur, impacting her work on a Netflix show and her business ventures in skincare and fitness.

Fulton previously sued Cage in 2009 for $13 million, alleging he broke a promise to provide her with a home, a case that was settled in 2011. In recent months, she has also pursued legal action against Weston’s ex-wife, claiming embezzlement and attempting to enforce a restraining order that prevents her from seeing her granddaughters.

As the legal battle unfolds, Fulton’s allegations raise questions about the responsibilities of parents in addressing their children’s mental health and behavioral challenges, particularly when those issues lead to violence. Neither Nicolas nor Weston Cage has publicly commented on the lawsuit at this time.
