Christina Fulton, the former girlfriend of actor Nicolas Cage, has filed a lawsuit against both Cage and their son, Weston Cage, following an alleged assault that left her with serious injuries. The incident reportedly occurred on April 28, when Weston, described as a 300-pound professional fighter, attacked Fulton, resulting in what she claims were life-threatening injuries.
In a civil complaint submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Fulton accuses her son of assault and battery and alleges that Nicolas Cage failed in his parental duties by not preventing the violence. Fulton is seeking unspecified damages for the physical, emotional, and economic harm she has suffered as a result of the attack.
The complaint details that Fulton was aware of Weston’s troubled history, including mental health issues and past violent behavior. She claims that Cage was complicit in enabling Weston’s aggression by providing financial support and ignoring his struggles. Fulton alleges that Cage bought Weston a condo next to his own and frequently bailed him out of jail, despite knowing about his issues with substance abuse.
The assault allegedly took place in multiple locations, including a parking lot and an elevator, and has resulted in serious injuries for Fulton, including a concussion, dental trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She stated that she had gone to visit Weston after receiving concerning messages about his mental state, only to be attacked by him during what she described as a fit of "manic rage."
Weston Cage was arrested in June and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon following accusations of attacking both his mother and another individual. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that he allegedly punched the victims multiple times, causing injuries.
Fulton’s lawsuit comes after a long history of tumultuous events involving both Weston and Nicolas Cage. In the past, Weston has faced legal troubles, including arrests for domestic violence and DUI. The recent incident has reportedly disrupted Fulton’s career as a model and entrepreneur, affecting her work on various projects, including a Netflix show.
Fulton dated Nicolas Cage from 1988 to 1991, and their relationship has been marked by legal disputes, including a previous lawsuit in 2009 where she claimed Cage owed her $13 million. That case was settled in 2011 under undisclosed terms.
As the legal proceedings unfold, neither Nicolas nor Weston Cage has commented publicly on the allegations made by Fulton. The case raises significant questions about familial responsibilities and the impact of mental health on violent behavior, highlighting the complexities of their family dynamics.
