Woodward: Trump Detonating Ignorance Bombs Regarding the Economy

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward shared his concerns about President Donald Trump’s handling of the U.S. economy during an appearance on MSNBC’s "Inside" on Monday. Woodward criticized Trump for what he described as "throwing bombs of ignorance" into economic policy, particularly regarding the use of tariffs.

Woodward explained that tariffs are essentially taxes imposed on consumers, which ultimately lead to higher prices. He noted that while there might be some minor benefits to tariffs, if they were truly effective, their positive effects would be evident in the economy by now. Instead, he believes Trump is disrupting a stable economy with his unpredictable decisions.

He expressed frustration over the lack of coherence in Trump’s approach. According to Woodward, the President’s actions seem random and driven by personal vendettas rather than a clear strategy. He pointed out that Trump appears to be on a "vengeance tour," targeting individuals and institutions that he dislikes, often using executive orders as a means of attack.

Woodward urged someone to ask Trump about his goals. He questioned whether the President’s actions are intended to harm the country he leads or if they stem from a desire for payback. Woodward’s comments reflect a deep concern about the impact of Trump’s decisions on the lives of everyday Americans, not just the stock market.
