The White House has released a new video aimed at encouraging undocumented immigrants in the United States to self-deport. The video features messages from President Donald Trump, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Border Czar Tom Homan, all emphasizing the consequences of staying in the country illegally.
In the video, which was shared on social media, viewers see a person lounging on a couch while listening to the warnings from Trump and others. The background music is "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver, adding an unusual touch to the serious message. Trump states, “People in our country illegally can self-deport the easy way, or they can get deported the hard way.” Noem follows up with a strong message urging people to leave voluntarily, warning that those who do not will face deportation.
Homan, speaking at a Conservative Political Action Conference, reinforces the message by stating that entering the country illegally is a crime that will not be overlooked. The video also includes an interview with Border Patrol chief Mike Banks, who warns that those crossing the border face a high chance of being caught and removed from the country.
The video ends with the sound of knocking, followed by a voice announcing, “United States Border Patrol! Open the door.” This dramatic conclusion aims to underscore the seriousness of the situation.
In March, Trump introduced the CBP Home app, designed to assist undocumented immigrants in self-deporting. This initiative is positioned as a contrast to the Biden Administration’s CBP One app, which allowed many individuals to enter the U.S. while awaiting asylum claims. Critics argue that the Biden app has led to an influx of illegal immigration, while Trump’s app aims to provide an easier way for those in the country illegally to leave.
Trump’s administration is framing this self-deportation campaign as a necessary step to address immigration issues, emphasizing that those who choose to stay will face significant consequences. The video reflects a broader strategy to deter illegal immigration and encourage compliance with U.S. immigration laws.
