More than 100 illegal immigrants were arrested during a raid at an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, early Sunday morning. The operation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Rocky Mountain Division, which reported that 114 individuals were taken into custody.
Authorities indicated that the nightclub had ties to violent gangs, including Tren de Aragua (TdA) and MS-13. Video footage from the DEA shows officers entering the building, breaking a window, and confronting a crowd of people who emerged with their hands raised. Many were seen surrendering as sirens blared.
The DEA operation was supported by local and federal partners. Along with the arrests, officials seized drugs and weapons from the nightclub. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) highlighted the significance of the raid, stating that it aimed to remove criminal illegal immigrants from American communities.
Social media reactions varied, with some praising the operation and expressing gratitude for efforts to enhance safety. Property owner Mike Moon claimed he had leased the venue to a woman who organized private events. Authorities had been monitoring the nightclub for several months, noting its popularity among gang members and even some members of the Hell’s Angels.
During the raid, officials also discovered evidence of prostitution and firearms. Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly pointed out that Colorado has become a hub for illegal immigration, citing the sanctuary policies of Denver and recent state legislation that reinforces this status. Additionally, several active-duty service members were found at the nightclub, either working as security or attending the event.
This raid underscores ongoing concerns about illegal immigration and gang activity in the area, as authorities continue to address these issues.
