Trump Highlights Airstrike on Houthis with Video: "They Will Never Sink Our Ships Again"

Donald Trump recently shared a dramatic video showing an airstrike against Houthi rebels, emphasizing the U.S. commitment to protecting its interests at sea. The footage, posted on Truth Social, depicts a group of Houthis gathering before a massive explosion leaves a crater in its wake. Trump stated, "They will never sink our ships again," referring to ongoing threats from the Iranian-backed group.

The airstrikes have been a part of the Trump administration’s military response, which has escalated over the past month. This surge in attacks follows renewed threats from the Houthis against U.S. and Israeli vessels in the Red Sea, particularly after Israel cut off humanitarian aid to Gaza. The U.S. has conducted daily airstrikes targeting the Houthis, who have also been responsible for downing three U.S. Reaper drones since early March.

In his posts, Trump highlighted the significant impact of the strikes, claiming that many Houthi fighters and leaders have been "decimated." He warned that attacks would continue until the Houthis cease their threats to shipping in the region. The administration has also implemented sanctions against individuals and companies linked to the Houthis, aiming to disrupt their operations and funding.

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz compared the Houthis to terrorist groups like al Qaeda and ISIS, noting their advanced weaponry supplied by Iran. He stressed the importance of keeping trade routes open for national security.

The recent military actions come after the Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks on U.S. naval vessels, including the USS Harry S. Truman. Security experts have pointed out that the Houthis do not target all vessels indiscriminately, avoiding ships from China and Saudi Arabia.

Trump’s message to Iran was clear: if the attacks do not stop, the U.S. will respond decisively. The situation remains tense as the U.S. continues its military operations in response to the ongoing threats from the Houthis.
