Trump Directs Termination of All Remaining Biden-Appointed U.S. Attorneys

President Donald Trump has announced the dismissal of all remaining U.S. attorneys appointed during President Joe Biden’s administration. In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the need to "clean house" at the Department of Justice (DOJ), claiming that the agency has been heavily politicized over the past four years. He stated, "America’s Golden Age must have a fair Justice System — THAT BEGINS TODAY!"

This move follows reports of significant personnel changes within the DOJ, including the termination of over 20 immigration lawyers who had recently been hired. These lawyers were described as "pro-migration judges" in the nation’s immigration courts, indicating a shift towards a more conservative approach to immigration enforcement.

Additionally, the Trump administration has reportedly fired more than a dozen prosecutors who were involved in investigations led by special counsel Jack Smith against Trump. According to a Justice Department official, Acting Attorney General James McHenry took these actions due to concerns that these officials could not be trusted to support Trump’s agenda, given their roles in prosecuting him.

In earlier remarks, Trump suggested that the perceived weaponization of the DOJ and the FBI under Biden had played a role in his reelection campaign, indicating that these issues resonated with voters.

As Trump continues to reshape the leadership within the DOJ, the implications of these changes could significantly impact the agency’s operations and its approach to various legal matters moving forward.
