Trump Backs Brad Schimel in Wisconsin Supreme Court Election

Judge Schimel is up against Susan Crawford in a high-stakes election on April 1. This race has already set records for spending in a judicial contest. A super PAC, backed by billionaire Elon Musk, is heavily supporting Schimel with $6.6 million for canvassing and get-out-the-vote efforts. They are even offering $100 to any Wisconsin voter who signs a petition against what they call “activist judges.” This move aims to rally conservative voters.

Schimel has been actively seeking support from former President Trump. He has reached out to Trump’s team to organize a rally in Wisconsin to boost his campaign. Former Governor Scott Walker has also asked the White House to get Trump involved in the race.

On the other side, Crawford’s campaign isn’t fazed by Trump’s potential endorsement of Schimel. A spokesperson for Crawford criticized Schimel, saying he has always been aligned with right-wing interests and that they expected Trump’s support for him long ago.

As the election approaches, both candidates are working hard to secure their bases and attract undecided voters.
