Tragic Loss: Rising Motocross Star Aidan Zingg, 16, Killed in Mammoth Lakes Race Crash

Aidan Zingg, a rising star in motocross, tragically passed away at just 16 years old after a serious accident during a race at Mammoth Mountain MX in Mammoth Lakes. The incident occurred on Saturday during a 250cc B class race when Zingg lost control and fell in a corner, subsequently being struck by other riders.

Zingg was known for his exceptional talent and had recently signed with Kawasaki’s Team Green program, a significant achievement for any young racer. He had already made a name for himself by winning the American Motorcyclist Association’s 2024 Amateur National Championship in the Supermini 2 class at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Tennessee. This marked his seventh consecutive year qualifying for the prestigious championships.

Growing up in Hemet, California, Aidan later moved to Washington with his family. He began racing at a young age, quickly excelling in the 65cc, 85cc, and Supermini classes. His dedication and skill earned him sponsorships from notable brands like Oakley and Bell.
