A Texas Department of Public Safety brush team successfully apprehended five illegal aliens who had managed to evade detection along the U.S.-Mexico border. The group was tracked for miles through ranches located 50 miles north of the border before being handed over to Border Patrol agents for removal proceedings.
The incident unfolded when the DPS brush team responded to a camera alert on a privately owned ranch in Uvalde County. Four of the Mexican nationals were discovered and transferred to Border Patrol custody. The following day, K-9 Bona and his handler joined the team to continue the search, eventually locating the fifth individual after a five-mile tracking operation through multiple ranches.
In a separate operation in Starr County, another DPS brush team, along with Texas Military Department soldiers, intercepted a group of migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande in a raft. One individual was arrested and turned over to Border Patrol authorities for processing.
The successful missions highlight the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies to secure the border and uphold immigration laws. The use of specialized teams and K-9 units proved instrumental in tracking down and apprehending individuals attempting to enter the country illegally. Such operations play a crucial role in maintaining border security and ensuring the safety of border communities.
