Three men have been arrested in connection with a tragic home-invasion robbery that left one man dead in Woodland Hills. The Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrests on Sunday, following an incident that occurred early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to an emergency call around 1 a.m. in the 22200 block of De La Osa Street, near Woodland Hills Elementary School. When they arrived, they found 47-year-old Aleksandre Modebadze suffering from a head injury. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that the suspects had entered Modebadze’s home, assaulted him, and held him captive while stealing his belongings. The police quickly identified three men believed to be involved in the crime: Paata Kochyashvili, 38; Zaza Otarashvili, 46; and Besiki Khutsishvili, 52. All three were arrested later that day and are being held on suspicion of murder, each with a bail set at $2 million.
As of now, none of the suspects have made any public statements, and it is unclear if they have retained legal counsel. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to reach out to the LAPD Operation Valley Bureau.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety in residential areas and the impact of violent crime on communities. As investigations continue, local residents are left grappling with the shock of such a violent crime occurring in their neighborhood.
