Son Arrested in Connection with Parents Murder at Azusa Residence

A 28-year-old man named Gabriel Contreras has been arrested in connection with the tragic stabbing deaths of his parents in Azusa, California. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when police responded to reports of screaming coming from a home on North Twintree Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Gabriel’s parents, Linda Rodriguez, 50, and Arthur Contreras, 58, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, both parents were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have charged Gabriel with two counts of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that Rodriguez died from a gunshot wound to the head alongside sharp force injuries, while Arthur Contreras succumbed to multiple sharp force injuries.

Gabriel was also found outside the home with stab wounds and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. After receiving treatment, he was arrested by the Azusa Police Department.

Currently, he is being held at the Pomona Municipal Court with bail set at $2 million. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, but details regarding his plea have not been made public.

This heartbreaking incident has left the local community in shock, as they grapple with the loss of two lives and the circumstances surrounding this family tragedy.
