A tragic train derailment in Russia’s Bryansk region has resulted in the deaths of seven people and left 30 others injured. The incident occurred near the border with Ukraine, prompting local authorities to investigate. Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of Bryansk, reported that the derailment and subsequent bridge collapse were due to what Moscow Railway described as “illegal interference in transport operations.” The Ukrainian military has not yet responded to this claim.
In a separate incident, Russian shelling in the Ukrainian village of Dolynka, located in the Zaporizhia region, killed a child and injured another person, according to local officials. Additionally, a man lost his life in the Kherson region due to Russian artillery fire, as reported by Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.
On a broader scale, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that Russian forces launched a significant attack involving around 109 drones and five missiles on Friday and into the night. Ukrainian defenses were able to intercept and destroy 42 of the drones during this assault.
In military developments, Russia claims to have captured two villages: Vodolahy in the Sumy region and Novopil in Donetsk. This announcement coincided with Ukraine’s decision to evacuate 11 more villages in the Sumy area, where Russian forces are reportedly gathering a large number of troops, estimated at around 50,000.
As the situation continues to evolve, both sides remain engaged in a tense conflict, with civilian casualties and military actions escalating in various regions. The humanitarian impact of these events is becoming increasingly severe, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by those living in conflict zones.
