A recent wave of violence in Ukraine has left several people dead and many others injured. In Odesa, a Russian drone attack tragically killed a teacher and her husband. The attack also wounded 14 others, with three victims, including a child, reported to be in critical condition.
On the same day, Russian forces launched another attack in eastern Ukraine, targeting the villages of Kostiantynivka and Ivanopillia. At least two people lost their lives in this incident, according to local officials.
In the capital city of Kyiv, explosions were reported late Saturday night. Mayor Vitali Klitschko advised residents to seek shelter as Russian drones were reportedly heading toward the city.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defence announced that its forces have taken control of Chervona Zirka, a settlement in Donetsk. They also claimed to have seized territory between the Vovcha and Mokri Yaly rivers.
Ukrainian military leaders are pushing back against these advances. Commander Oleksandr Syrskii stated that while Russian troops are making a strong push toward Kostiantynivka, they are suffering heavy losses and not achieving significant gains.
The conflict is not limited to Ukraine. In Russia, a Ukrainian drone attack in the Kursk region injured a 43-year-old man, who suffered a traumatic brain injury, according to local reports.
In a show of resilience, Ukraine’s SBU security service reported that they launched a successful drone strike on the Kirovske military airfield in Crimea, destroying three Russian attack helicopters and an anti-aircraft missile system.
On the other side, Russia claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 64 Ukrainian drones over western Russia and in Crimea overnight into Saturday.
This ongoing conflict continues to escalate, impacting lives on both sides of the border. The situation remains tense as both nations engage in a fierce battle for control.
