Dallas rapper Yella Beezy has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the 2020 shooting death of fellow rapper Mo3. Court records show that the 33-year-old, whose real name is Markies Conway, was indicted by a grand jury in Dallas County. The indictment alleges that Conway hired another man, Kewon White, to carry out the murder of Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble.
Details surrounding the motive for the alleged crime remain unclear, as the indictment does not specify why Conway is accused of orchestrating the shooting. The incident occurred on November 11, 2020, when Noble was driving on Interstate 35 in south Dallas. Authorities claim that White approached Noble’s vehicle, exited his own car with a gun, and shot at Noble as he attempted to flee on foot. Tragically, Noble was struck by gunfire and later died at a hospital, while a bystander in a nearby vehicle was injured but survived.
In addition to White, another man, Devin Brown, has also been indicted in connection with Noble’s death. Their legal proceedings are still ongoing. White, who is currently 26 years old, was sentenced to nearly nine years in federal prison in 2022 for a separate case involving firearm possession.
Yella Beezy is known for his hit songs, including "That’s On Me" and "Bacc At It Again," featuring Quavo and Gucci Mane. In a separate incident in 2018, he survived a shooting while driving in Lewisville, Texas.
Mo3 was a rising star in the rap scene, boasting over 800,000 Instagram followers and gaining popularity with his 2019 remix of "Errybody" alongside rapper Boosie Badazz. Following the news of Conway’s arrest, Noble’s mother expressed her grief and desire for justice on social media.
As the legal process unfolds, the Dallas rap community is left grappling with the tragic loss of Mo3 and the serious charges facing Yella Beezy.
