Santa Ana police have arrested a mother after a tragic incident in which she allegedly stabbed her 11-year-old son to death. The event occurred on Wednesday morning at a La Quinta Inn, where the mother, 48 years old, called the police around 9:25 a.m. to report the incident.
When officers arrived, they found the boy unresponsive. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The police recovered a knife believed to be used in the stabbing. Authorities have stated that they consider this an isolated incident, with no other suspects involved.
The mother was taken into custody without any issues outside the motel room where they were staying. However, she later informed police that she had ingested a large quantity of an unknown substance. As a result, instead of being taken to jail, she was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains in stable condition.
This heartbreaking event has shocked the Santa Ana community. Police are continuing their investigation and have cordoned off the hotel as they gather more evidence. They are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Santa Ana police or Orange County Crime Stoppers.
