Mississippi Delivery Driver Allegedly Attempts to Steal Order from Retired Deputy

A 30-year-old man from Jackson, Mississippi, is facing charges after allegedly attempting to steal a delivery order meant for a former deputy sheriff. Terel Tywan Hampton was arrested on Monday after the incident involving Brad Sullivan, a retired Madison County Deputy who was partially paralyzed from a shooting in 2019.

Sullivan had ordered items from Academy Sports for his son. When the delivery driver, identified as "Dennis K" on the app, failed to deliver the order, Sullivan became suspicious. He contacted the police after realizing that the order was canceled without his consent, despite confirmation from the store that the driver had picked it up.

Police investigated the situation, confirming that Hampton had indeed taken Sullivan’s order, which included two shirts, two pairs of shoes, and a pair of shorts. They found the stolen items in Hampton’s vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet Impala, along with marijuana and a firearm.

Hampton was charged with petit larceny, possession of marijuana while in possession of a firearm, and improper equipment. Both Sullivan and the Madison Police Department chose not to comment further on the case.
