A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 400 years in prison for sexually assaulting young girls at his home during sleepovers. Brandon Xiong was found guilty of multiple charges involving four victims, all aged between 5 and 10. The assaults occurred while the girls were asleep, and Xiong would carry them to a secluded area of his house.
The case began when one of the victims told her mother about the abuse in October 2018. This disclosure led investigators to uncover additional victims. However, the district attorney’s office did not provide details on how the girls were allowed to stay at Xiong’s home or the circumstances of the sleepovers.
Xiong faced nine felony counts, including forcible lewd acts upon a child and sex acts with a child under ten. The court also imposed a multiple victim enhancement, resulting in consecutive prison terms for each crime against different victims or for repeated offenses against the same victim.
Xiong has a prior conviction for attempted first-degree burglary. Under California’s three-strikes law, he faced the possibility of a harsher sentence due to his criminal history. The law can impose a life sentence after a third serious felony conviction.
His 400-year sentence is among the longest for sexual assault cases in California. In recent years, other offenders have received similarly lengthy sentences, highlighting the serious nature of these crimes. Xiong may be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 20 years of his sentence.
