Grupo Firme, a well-known Mexican band, has canceled its performance at the La Onda Fest scheduled for this Sunday in Napa Valley, California. The band announced that they are facing issues with their work visas, which are currently stuck in an administrative process.
The group, based in Tijuana, shared on social media that their visas, along with those of their team, are being processed by the U.S. Embassy. This situation prevents them from performing at the festival as planned. They expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause and thanked their fans in the U.S. for their support.
The band hopes to return to the United States for future performances once their visa issues are resolved. However, they are not alone in facing such challenges. Another Mexican artist, Julion Alvarez, recently postponed a sold-out concert in Texas due to similar visa problems. Alvarez learned that his visa had been canceled just before his scheduled show, affecting nearly 50,000 ticket holders.
Promoters for Alvarez’s concert have stated that they will reschedule the event, offering ticket holders the option for refunds or to keep their tickets for the new date.
The U.S. Embassy has not commented on individual cases, citing confidentiality in visa records. The situation highlights ongoing difficulties for international artists trying to perform in the U.S., a challenge that can impact both performers and fans alike.
