Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, is set to embark on a significant trip to Asia next week. Her itinerary includes attending a security conference in India, highlighting her role in addressing international security issues.
Gabbard shared her travel plans on social media, stating she will visit Japan, Thailand, and India, with a stop in France on her return to the United States. This marks her second international trip since taking office in the Trump administration. Just a month ago, she attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
Before heading to Asia, Gabbard made a stop in Hawaii, where she arrived on Wednesday. Hawaii is home to a major National Security Agency office and the military’s Indo-Pacific Command headquarters. During her time there, she plans to meet with military and intelligence officials and observe U.S. troops in training.
This trip underscores Gabbard’s commitment to strengthening U.S. ties in the Asia-Pacific region and addressing security challenges. Her meetings with military and intelligence personnel are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation and readiness in a critical part of the world.
