Florida Woman Aimed Pellet Gun at Children Fishing Near Her Home, Threatened Violence: Authorities

A woman in Florida has been arrested after allegedly threatening two boys with a pellet gun while they were fishing in a pond near her home. Donna Elkins, 59, called 911 on Friday to report the boys, claiming they were trespassing in her backyard. However, police later found that the boys were actually fishing about 30 feet from her property.

According to the arrest affidavit, Elkins confronted the boys and forced them to the ground for approximately five minutes. During this time, she allegedly pointed the pellet gun at them and threatened to "blow their heads off." She reportedly told the boys that she had the right to protect her property.

One of the boys, a 15-year-old named Brayden, recounted the incident, saying, "She said she was going to blow our brains out and that if we didn’t listen to her, she would shoot." He expressed that even though the weapon was a pellet gun, he genuinely feared for his life, believing it could be real.

Elkins’s husband eventually intervened and disarmed her. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office later determined that neither boy was injured. Elkins now faces two charges of false imprisonment and two charges of aggravated assault.

This alarming incident raises questions about how property rights and personal safety can sometimes lead to dangerous confrontations.
