FBI Probes Death of Yosemite National Park Visitor

A woman was found injured in Yosemite National Park and later died in a Fresno County hospital, prompting an investigation by the National Park Service. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was discovered on Thursday inside a park facility where she needed medical help. She was quickly transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries the next day.

Tony Botti, a spokesperson for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the circumstances surrounding her injuries and death are considered suspicious. He mentioned that the Sheriff’s Office is working alongside the National Park Service to determine the nature of the situation. However, he added that there is currently no evidence to suggest foul play.

Initially, there was confusion about who was leading the investigation, with reports indicating that the FBI was in charge. This was later clarified, confirming that the National Park Service is handling the case.

As the investigation unfolds, officials are looking into the details surrounding the woman’s injuries and the events that led to her hospitalization.
