A woman was found injured in Yosemite National Park and sadly passed away the next day in a Fresno County hospital. The park service is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her injuries and death, which have been deemed suspicious.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was discovered inside a park facility on Thursday. She required immediate medical assistance and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries and died the following day.
Tony Botti, a spokesperson for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the injuries and the circumstances of her death raised concerns. While the sheriff’s office is assisting with the investigation, Botti noted that there is no evidence at this time to suggest foul play.
Initially, it was reported that the FBI would lead the investigation, but this was later clarified to be under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. They confirmed that the inquiry is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
The tragic event has left many in the community and park visitors concerned about safety in the area. As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
