Elon Musk recently expressed his disapproval of the pro-migration riots happening in Los Angeles, California. He called the situation “not ok” in a statement that has garnered attention as tensions rise amid protests against immigration officials.
Musk shared a screenshot of a post from former President Donald Trump, who criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for their handling of the riots. Trump urged them to apologize to the people of Los Angeles for their inadequate response to the unrest.
In a show of support for Trump, Musk also reposted a message from Vice President JD Vance, which included Trump’s announcement that he had instructed the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and Attorney General Pam Bondi to take necessary actions to restore order in Los Angeles.
This shift in Musk’s stance comes after a public feud with Trump. Musk had previously criticized Trump’s infrastructure bill, calling it “pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination.” During their conflict, Musk even hinted at drastic measures against Trump, including threats to decommission SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft and allegations involving Trump and the Epstein files.
The riots in Los Angeles erupted over the weekend in response to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducting raids. More than 40 people were arrested during the protests, which saw demonstrators setting fire to vehicles and engaging in violent confrontations with law enforcement.
In light of the escalating violence, Trump signed a memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to help restore peace in the city. Social media has been filled with videos showing protesters waving foreign flags, damaging property, and clashing with police.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino warned that those who choose violence would face investigation and prosecution. The situation remains tense as law enforcement continues to respond to the protests and the community grapples with the implications of the ongoing unrest.
