Driver Killed in Collision with Fire Truck in Pacoima

A tragic car accident in Pacoima has left one man dead after he turned in front of a fire engine at an intersection. The incident occurred on Sunday morning around 10:45 a.m. as a Los Angeles City Fire Department engine was responding to an emergency call.

The fire truck was traveling southbound on San Fernando Road when a Toyota Corolla made a left turn from Terra Bella Street directly in front of it, leading to a collision. According to Sergeant Jodie McGee from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division, the driver of the Corolla was seriously injured and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The firefighters in the engine were shaken by the incident but fortunately did not suffer any injuries. The LAPD is currently investigating the crash. They are working to identify the victim, who did not have any identification on him at the time of the accident. It has been confirmed that he was the only person in the Corolla.

This unfortunate event highlights the dangers that can arise at busy intersections, especially when emergency vehicles are involved. Authorities remind drivers to remain vigilant and cautious, particularly when approaching intersections where emergency vehicles may be present.
