Thieves broke into Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles home on Wednesday night while the actor was away. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at his residence in the Los Feliz area.
According to police reports, at least three suspects scaled the security fence and smashed a window to get inside. Once inside, they ransacked the place, leaving it in disarray as they searched for valuable items. Sources indicated that the intruders took some belongings before fleeing the scene.
This burglary adds to a troubling trend of celebrity homes being targeted by thieves in the Los Angeles area. Law enforcement officials have noted that South American theft gangs have been increasingly active, particularly in upscale neighborhoods. In recent months, other high-profile figures have also fallen victim to similar crimes. For instance, soccer player Olivier Giroud had his home robbed of $500,000 worth of jewelry and watches earlier this month. Additionally, on Valentine’s Day, the home of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban was also burglarized.
Pitt’s home, known as the Steel House, is one of several properties he owns. At the time of the break-in, he was in London for the premiere of his latest film, “F1: The Movie.”
In August, the FBI and local police dismantled a significant crime ring that had been operating in Southern California. This group was responsible for numerous thefts across the country, often targeting high-end homes. Their operation reportedly began around 2018 and resulted in an estimated loss of $35 million for homeowners and businesses.
As these incidents continue to rise, authorities are working hard to address the issue and protect residents in these affluent areas from further burglaries.
