Burbank Brush Fire Contained, Evacuations Rescinded, Say Fire Officials

A brush fire erupted Tuesday afternoon in Burbank, California, leading to evacuations in nearby neighborhoods as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Named the Bethany fire, the fire was reported just before 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bethany Road and Amherst Drive, according to the Burbank Fire Department.

By 4:30 p.m., the fire had spread to approximately 10 acres, prompting officials to issue evacuation orders for homes located above Bel Aire Drive and west of Walnut Avenue, including the DeBell Golf Club. Residents were urged to leave their homes as a precaution.

Fortunately, by around 6 p.m., firefighters announced that they had halted the fire’s forward progress and lifted all evacuation orders. Fire officials stated that they had deployed fire hoses around the area to keep the fire contained. Crews remained on-site to monitor the situation and conduct cleanup operations throughout the night.

As of now, fire officials have not disclosed any information regarding the cause of the fire. The prompt response from the Burbank Fire Department helped prevent further damage and ensured the safety of local residents.
