A bizarre incident unfolded at Disneyland Paris involving a fake wedding ceremony that has raised eyebrows and sparked an investigation. A British man, who had reportedly hired the venue for several hours, was arrested after it was revealed that he had organized a mock wedding that included a young Ukrainian girl, who had just arrived in France.
The girl, described as dressed in white with her hair styled for the occasion, was not harmed in any way, according to a statement from the authorities. She had not been forced into any role during the event. However, the scene shocked one woman who was hired as a guest. She expressed her horror upon seeing the girl and described the moment as "horrific."
Around 100 extras were recruited for the ceremony, which was meant to be filmed privately. The British man was set to play the groom, while he had allegedly disguised himself to look different from his true self. His actions, however, led to serious legal consequences. He faces charges of fraud, breach of trust, money laundering, and identity theft. He was placed in pretrial detention after appearing before a judge.
Three others were arrested in connection with the event, including the girl’s mother and two Latvian individuals. As of now, only the British man remains in custody. The authorities have stated that Disneyland Paris was deceived in the process, as the organizer used a fake Latvian ID to book the venue, which is available for private rentals outside of normal operating hours.
The cost of this strange stunt was reportedly over €130,000, equivalent to about £110,000. The British man has a troubling history, having been previously convicted of sexual offenses against minors. He is also wanted in the UK for not complying with the terms of his registration as a sex offender.
The investigation is ongoing, and many questions remain about the purpose of this unusual event. What motivated the organizer to stage such a spectacle is still unclear.
