Authorities are investigating the death of a woman found on Santa Monica Beach, believed to be a victim of homicide. The discovery occurred early Monday morning when beach maintenance workers reported an unresponsive individual near Lifeguard Tower 1550, located in the 1500 block of the beach.
Santa Monica Police responded to the scene around 7 a.m. and located the body of a female victim wrapped in a sleeping bag. Upon examination, officers noted visible trauma to her face, prompting immediate action from the Santa Monica Fire Department, which pronounced her dead at the scene.
While the victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed, she is estimated to be around 30 years old. The circumstances surrounding her death remain under active investigation. Police are treating the case as a potential homicide, and they are seeking information from the public to aid in their inquiries.
