A carjacking suspect was arrested on Tuesday after a dangerous police chase in Inglewood, California, which involved two young children in his vehicle. The incident unfolded when Culver City police tried to stop Aaron Flenoy, a 33-year-old man from Inglewood, who had an outstanding warrant for carjacking and weapons charges.
During the traffic stop, Flenoy initially complied but then took off, leading police on a brief chase. He ran a red light at the intersection of Centinela and La Brea avenues and collided with another vehicle. The chase lasted less than two minutes, according to Jennifer Atenza, a public information officer for the police department.
Inside Flenoy’s vehicle were two children, ages 5 and 9, along with another adult, Timberline Davenport, who also had multiple outstanding warrants. After the crash, all passengers were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, the children suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle was unharmed. Flenoy and Davenport sustained minor injuries.
Authorities have charged Flenoy with child endangerment and evading arrest, and he may face additional charges related to his outstanding warrants. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about child safety in situations involving reckless driving and criminal behavior.
