Angel Moms Criticize Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen for Visiting El Salvador While Overlooking Their Daughters Murders in Maryland

Angel Moms Patty Morin and Tammy Nobles are expressing their anger toward Senator Chris Van Hollen for his recent trip to El Salvador. They believe he is prioritizing the wrong issues by seeking to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported illegal alien accused of gang membership and domestic violence. This comes after both women lost their daughters to violent crimes committed by illegal aliens.

Van Hollen’s trip aimed to advocate for Abrego Garcia, who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in 2011 and was deported last month under the Trump administration. The senator has stated his intention to bring Abrego Garcia back to the U.S., despite the serious allegations against him, including ties to the MS-13 gang and accusations of domestic abuse.

Nobles, whose daughter Kayla Hamilton was murdered in 2022 by an MS-13 gang member, criticized Van Hollen for not reaching out to her family during their time of grief. She emphasized that her daughter’s killer had been released into the U.S. after claiming fear of gang violence, despite being a gang member himself. Nobles expressed her frustration, saying, “His political priorities are screwed up because he should be concerned with the American citizens in Maryland instead of chasing this guy that’s not even here legally.”

Patty Morin echoed these sentiments, sharing her disappointment that Van Hollen barely acknowledged her daughter Rachel’s murder, which she described as one of the most horrific crimes in Harford County’s history. Morin highlighted her outrage that a senator would prioritize a deported individual over the victims of violent crimes in his own state. “Why does that person have more right than I do or my daughter or my grandchildren?” she asked.

Both mothers have called for accountability from their elected officials, asserting that they received no support or condolences from Van Hollen or other Democrats after their daughters’ tragic deaths. They argue that the focus should be on protecting American citizens rather than advocating for deported individuals with serious criminal backgrounds.

As more Democrats express interest in traveling to El Salvador to support Abrego Garcia’s return, the tension over immigration policy and public safety continues to rise, especially among families who have suffered from violent crimes linked to illegal immigration.
