Wilshire Boulevard Section to Close for Three Weeks Due to Metro Expansion Project

Parts of Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills are set to close for three weeks starting Monday morning. This closure is part of the Metro D Line Extension Project, which aims to improve public transportation in the area.

The affected stretch of Wilshire Boulevard runs between Crescent Drive and east of El Camino Drive. It will remain closed until April 7, according to the Los Angeles Metro. Crews will be busy removing concrete deck panels and restoring streets and utilities during this time. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2027.

While the road is closed, pedestrian access will still be available along Wilshire Boulevard. However, drivers should be aware that the road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between San Vicente Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard. Left turns from Wilshire onto Gale Drive, Hamilton Drive, and Tower Drive will be restricted, as well as turns from Hamilton and Tower Drives onto Wilshire Boulevard.

Metro Lines 20 and 720 will be rerouted during the closure. These lines will travel along Santa Monica Boulevard, Burton Way, and San Vicente Boulevard, with temporary stops along those routes.

Local officials have assured residents that no road closures will happen on holidays or during major regional events. As the construction progresses, drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
