More than 25,000 runners are set to participate in the 40th Los Angeles Marathon this Sunday, March 16, 2025. The race will kick off at 7 a.m. from Dodger Stadium and will finish in Century City.
Runners will travel through various neighborhoods, starting in Los Feliz, moving west to West Hollywood, and passing through Beverly Hills. They will then head toward Brentwood before making their way to the finish line at Santa Monica Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars.
As excitement builds for the marathon, local drivers should prepare for road closures. Streets and freeway ramps will start closing as early as 3 a.m. on race day. The closures will affect several key routes, including ramps on the north- and southbound 101 Freeway and the 110 Freeway. Most of these ramps are expected to reopen by noon.
Drivers should also note that the Wilshire Boulevard exit on the southbound 405 Freeway will be closed from 4:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For those wanting to stay updated on road conditions, full details about all closures along the 26.2-mile race route can be found on the marathon’s official website.
Coverage of the marathon will begin at 6 a.m. on KTLA-TV, and fans can also watch a livestream on the official L.A. Marathon Facebook page.
This year’s marathon marks a significant milestone, celebrating four decades of this beloved event. It promises to bring together a community of runners and spectators alike, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Los Angeles.
