Can Europe and the US find common agreement on Ukraine?

After a rough visit to the United States, Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelenskyy found a warmer reception in London during a special summit. This came right after a public scolding from US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in Washington. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer gathered what he called a "coalition of the willing" to continue supporting Kyiv and present a peace plan to the US. However, they made it clear that they still need the United States on board despite their united front.

The big question now is how the Trump administration’s improving relations with Moscow and the public criticism of Ukraine’s leader will impact the chances of a ceasefire and the relationships between countries on both sides of the Atlantic.

The event was covered by presenter Cyril Vanier and featured guests like Robert Hamilton, who heads Eurasia research at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, PJ Crowley, a former US assistant secretary of state for public affairs, and Marina Miron, a post-doctoral researcher at the Defence Studies Department at King’s College London.
