Attorney General Pam Bondi has taken decisive action against the FBI Field Office in New York for allegedly withholding crucial documents related to the investigation of the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. In a letter dated February 27, Bondi directed FBI Director Kash Patel to handle the situation after discovering that the Field Office had not provided her with the complete set of files she had requested.
Bondi expressed her concerns in the letter, stating that despite receiving around 200 pages of documents initially, she suspected that there were more files being withheld. It was only after a tip from a source within the FBI Field Office that she learned about the existence of thousands of additional pages of documents related to the Epstein case.
The Attorney General set strict deadlines for the FBI to deliver all Epstein-related files to her office by the following day, February 28. Additionally, she instructed Patel to conduct an immediate investigation into why her initial request was not fulfilled, demanding a comprehensive report within 14 days.
The Department of Justice confirmed Bondi’s claims, stating that the FBI Field Office in New York had indeed withheld Epstein files. A source within the DOJ also emphasized that Bondi and Patel were in complete agreement on the matter.
The revelation of the withheld documents came just hours after Bondi announced on Fox News her intention to release significant information about Epstein. She mentioned having over 250 victims and hinted at the release of flight logs and names associated with the case.
Conservative journalists and influencers were seen leaving the White House with binders labeled "The Epstein Files: Phase 1," indicating the gravity of the situation. Despite the anticipation surrounding the release of information, it was noted that the initial materials made public were largely items that had already been leaked.
The events surrounding the Epstein case continue to unfold, with Bondi’s actions shedding light on potential discrepancies within the FBI’s handling of the investigation. The public awaits further developments as authorities work to ensure transparency and accountability in this high-profile case.
