American Hostage Released from Gaza Credits Trump: You Are Why I’m Back Home

Keith Siegel, a 65-year-old American-Israeli citizen, expressed his gratitude to former President Donald Trump in a heartfelt video released on Friday. Siegel, who was freed from Hamas captivity in Gaza two weeks ago, credited Trump as instrumental in his return to his family. In the video shared by the Hostages and Families Forum organization, Siegel stated, “President Trump, you are the reason I am home alive. You are the reason I was reunited with my beloved wife, four children and five grandchildren.”

Siegel’s release was a moment of joy for his family, who welcomed him back with tears and songs. His emotional reunion highlighted the ongoing efforts to secure the freedom of hostages held by Hamas. On the same day as Siegel’s video release, three additional hostages were expected to be freed: Sagui Dekel-Chen, a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen; Sasha Trufanov, a dual Russian-Israeli citizen; and Yair Horn, a dual Argentinian-Israeli citizen.

These releases were anticipated despite Hamas’s earlier threats to withdraw from a ceasefire agreement. The situation escalated when Trump issued an ultimatum, stating that Israel should be prepared to take military action against Hamas if all remaining hostages were not released by noon on Saturday. In response, Israel echoed this warning, leading Hamas to agree to adhere to the existing deal.

The urgency surrounding the hostages’ release reflects the ongoing tensions in the region, as well as the diplomatic efforts being made to ensure their safety. The situation remains fluid, with the international community closely monitoring developments. As the deadline approached, the stakes were high, underscoring the complexities of hostage negotiations in conflict zones.
