Family Claims 7-Eleven Manager Assaulted Young Employee; Life Support to Be Withdrawn

Family members of Jessica McLaughlin, a 24-year-old woman, are mourning her death after a violent attack by her manager at a 7-Eleven store in Los Angeles. McLaughlin was left on life support for eight days before passing away in the hospital. Her family had hoped for a miracle but ultimately had to say their final goodbyes.

The tragic incident occurred on June 24 at the 7-Eleven located on Melrose Avenue. According to her family, the attack began as a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. Witnesses reported that the manager held McLaughlin down and suffocated her, preventing her from breathing. After managing to escape, McLaughlin collapsed and called for help, saying she couldn’t breathe.

Emergency responders found her unconscious and attempted CPR, but she did not regain consciousness. Her family later learned that her brain had been deprived of oxygen for over ten minutes, leading to severe brain damage. They received the heartbreaking news that she was brain-dead and had to make the difficult decision to let her go.

In the aftermath, her family accused the manager of bullying McLaughlin in the workplace and trying to erase evidence of the attack by deleting security footage. The manager allegedly fled the scene on a bicycle. The Los Angeles Police Department is treating McLaughlin’s death as a homicide and is actively searching for the suspect.

7-Eleven has stated that the employee involved in the incident has been fired and that the company is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The family has described McLaughlin as an innocent victim and is seeking justice for her untimely death.
