Hollywood actor Michael Rapaport has expressed support for President Donald Trump’s recent initiatives aimed at addressing antisemitism in American universities. In a recent episode of his podcast, Rapaport highlighted Trump’s executive order, which seeks to combat the increasing incidents of anti-Jewish sentiment on campus, as a positive step.
“I like what I’m seeing so far,” Rapaport stated, noting his willingness to critique Trump while also hoping for the country’s success regardless of who occupies the White House. He emphasized that his support is contingent upon the actions taken for the benefit of the American people. “If Kamala won, I would be rooting for her. ‘Smokin’ Joe Biden won, I would be rooting for him. If ‘Dickstain’ Donald Trump won, I would be rooting for him,” he remarked, underscoring his desire for effective governance.
The executive order, which Rapaport praised, mandates that all executive agencies identify ongoing actions against antisemitism and propose further actions within a 60-day timeframe. Additionally, it instructs certain agencies to monitor the activities of international students and staff involved in antisemitic protests, with the potential for investigations and deportations.
“I am happy that a task force for antisemitism, for anti-Jewishness, has been implemented by Trump,” Rapaport added, expressing his approval of the measures taken. Following the announcement of the executive order, the Trump administration initiated investigations into antisemitic incidents at five universities, fulfilling a campaign promise to address the rise of anti-Jewish hostility on college campuses.
The universities under scrutiny include Columbia University, Northwestern University, Portland State University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. These investigations will be led by the Department of Education, which aims to assess and respond to the reported incidents of antisemitism.
Rapaport’s comments reflect a broader conversation about the role of public figures in political discourse and the importance of addressing hate in educational environments. As the situation develops, the effectiveness of these initiatives in curbing antisemitism on campuses will be closely monitored by both supporters and critics alike.
