Man killed and another critically injured in bold Bali villa shooting

Authorities in Bali are on the hunt for two Australian men connected to a tragic shooting that left one man dead and another injured. The incident occurred at Villa Casa Santisya in Badung, southern Bali, just after midnight on Friday. The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic from Melbourne, who was shot multiple times, including twice in the chest and once in the foot. Another man was seriously hurt but survived the attack.

Police chief Arif Batubara reported that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and an investigation is underway. The two victims were taken to separate hospitals in Denpasar, where medical staff worked to save them.

Witnesses at the villa described a chaotic scene. They saw two gunmen arrive on a scooter shortly before the shooting. One suspect wore an orange jacket, while the other was dressed in dark clothing and a mask. Witnesses also noted that the assailants spoke English with an Australian accent.

Inside the villa’s bathroom, investigators found a disturbing amount of evidence: 17 bullet casings, two unused bullets, and 55 bullet fragments scattered around. Radmanovic’s wife recounted being awakened by her husband’s screams and hiding under a blanket as gunshots rang out. She later discovered his body and saw the injured man, whose wife also witnessed the attack.

Additional witnesses, including two Balinese guests at the villa, heard a man struggling to start his scooter in an Australian accent shortly after the gunfire erupted. Photographs from the scene show bullet holes in the villa’s exterior, highlighting the violence of the incident.

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing support to the family of the deceased and is ready to assist the injured man. Authorities in Bali are waiting for permission from the Australian embassy to conduct an autopsy on Radmanovic.

As the investigation continues, the local community is left in shock over this violent act in a place known for its beauty and tranquility.
