A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Campbell Hall, a private school in Studio City, where a 15-year-old boy lost his life after being hit by a vehicle. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at 3:10 p.m. about a vehicle-on-pedestrian collision in the school’s parking lot.
Authorities reported that the boy was struck by a green 2025 Rivian SUV while crossing the parking lot. The impact pinned him against a white SUV. Emergency services quickly transported him to a local hospital, but he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.
The collision also injured five other individuals, including two minors and three adults, though their injuries were not life-threatening. Aerial footage from news helicopters showed a chaotic scene, with a three-vehicle pileup occurring as parents were lining up to pick up their children from school.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and the identity of the driver has not been released. L.A. County Supervisor Lindsay Horvath expressed her condolences, stating, “My heart is with the entire Campbell Hall community during this tragic time.” She added that she is praying for the injured student and all those affected by this incident.
In response to the accident, the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team was dispatched to the school to provide emotional support to students, staff, and families impacted by the event.
Campbell Hall, known for its notable alumni, including actors and professional athletes, is a private Episcopal K-12 school. School officials have yet to comment on the incident.
