A man from Fort Worth, Texas, is in police custody after allegedly killing his mother during what he described as an attempted exorcism. The shocking incident unfolded when police responded to a 911 call from an anonymous tipster who reported seeing a disturbing photo on Snapchat. The image showed a woman lying on the ground, covered in what appeared to be blood.
When officers arrived at the home, they found 23-year-old Alexander Taylor Valdez at the door, holding a Bible and showing visible signs of blood on his face, neck, and hands. According to the police affidavit, Valdez admitted to officers that he had been performing an exorcism. He chillingly confessed, "I was doing witchcraft to kill my mom."
Inside the house, police discovered the body of Valdez’s 58-year-old mother, Teresita Sayson, along with a deceased dog in the master bedroom. The police report noted that Sayson had suffered severe trauma to her face and upper body, and she was covered in blood. Valdez reportedly told officers, "There is a dead body in there. It’s my mom," when they inquired about anyone else in the house.
Authorities believe Valdez used a blunt object to attack his mother. A search of the home revealed a broken jewelry box with blood and hair on it, which is suspected to be the murder weapon. Valdez is currently being held on a $750,000 bond and faces a charge of murder.
This tragic event has left the local community in shock, raising questions about mental health and the circumstances leading to such a violent act within a family.
