Police Allegedly Shoot and Kill Dog During Response to Call in Pasadena

Pasadena police shot and killed a dog while responding to a call about a woman in distress on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near South Hudson Avenue and East California Boulevard. Officers arrived after receiving reports of a woman lying on the ground with an unleashed dog.

When they got there, they found the woman making incoherent statements. According to police, the dog charged at one of the officers before animal control or fire department personnel could arrive. In response to the dog’s aggressive behavior, the officers shot the animal.

The woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and thankfully, no other injuries were reported during the incident. The Pasadena Police Department has not yet commented on the situation, as inquiries from the media remain unanswered.

This event raises questions about police protocols in handling situations involving animals, especially when public safety is a concern. The shooting of the dog has sparked discussions within the community about the appropriate measures for law enforcement in similar scenarios.
