Texas Man Abandons Critically Injured Family After Crashing Car at 100 MPH, Authorities Say

Houston Police are on the lookout for a man who fled the scene after crashing his SUV into a ditch at a high speed of 100 miles per hour. The incident occurred while he was driving with his wife and four children, leaving them injured.

The crash took place on Yale Street when the father’s Ford Expedition collided with a pickup truck. According to reports, surveillance footage shows the SUV speeding before the truck unexpectedly turned in front of it, leading to the collision that flipped the SUV into a ditch.

Witnesses and police say the driver of the Expedition ran away after the accident, leaving his family behind. Another vehicle picked him up shortly after. Capt. Ryan Watson from the Houston Police Department expressed confusion over the driver’s decision to flee, stating, “I have no idea what’s going through his mind at the time.”

The family members inside the SUV were seriously hurt, with two in critical condition and one child, an 8-year-old, thrown from the vehicle during the crash. The other children, described as toddlers, were also injured but are currently receiving medical care. Fortunately, the occupants of the pickup truck were unharmed.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident and are following leads to locate the driver of the Expedition. They hope to speak with him to understand his actions and gather more details about the crash.

As the investigation continues, the Houston community is left shaken by this reckless act that endangered the lives of a family. Police urge anyone with information about the driver to come forward.
