66-Year-Old Mother Celebrates Birth of 10th Child, Her 8th Since Age 53

A 66-year-old woman in Germany has welcomed her tenth child, and she is proudly embracing her late-age pregnancy. Alexandra Hildebrandt gave birth to her son, Philipp, on March 19 at Charité Hospital in Berlin. The baby weighed seven pounds and 13 ounces, although he currently requires oxygen for respiratory treatment.

Hildebrandt shared that Philipp was conceived naturally and without complications. Interestingly, his oldest sibling, Svetlana, is 46 years older than him, while the ages of his other siblings range from two to 36. This newborn is Hildebrandt’s eighth child with her husband, Daniel Dormann. Together, they have twins, Elisabeth and Maximilian, as well as Alexandra, Leopold, Anna, Maria, and Katharina.

Hildebrandt, who is an artist and the director of the Berlin Wall Museum, also has two adult children, Svetlana and Artjom, from a previous relationship. She believes that having a large family is beneficial for raising children. In an email to Today.com, she emphasized the joy and importance of a big family, noting that her loved ones have reacted positively to her decision to continue having children.

Despite her age, Hildebrandt remains healthy and active. She reported that she has never used contraceptives and maintains a healthy lifestyle, which includes swimming and walking regularly. Wolfgang Henrich, the director of obstetrics at Charité Hospital, confirmed that Hildebrandt’s strong health contributed to a smooth pregnancy and delivery.

The couple recently bought a new home in Berlin, where they are renovating to ensure each of their eight children will have their own bedroom. Hildebrandt mentioned that they are still working on installing plasterboard walls.

While Hildebrandt’s age brings certain risks during pregnancy, such as higher chances of complications, she remains confident in her ability to care for her family. She is determined to provide a loving environment for her children, focusing on their well-being and upbringing.
